Same music, new way home

As I was driving home one day from work I heard a new pop song on the radio. It was catchy. It was fun. It was predictable. Then I thought about when I was in school how this song would have had a different meaning to me. Back then it might would have reminded me of a certain event or basketball game, track meet, etc. Nowadays these songs make me listen to stay up on current lingo and trends. These songs also help me want to scoot on home to be with my family since my three daughters will age faster than I can imagine and then they can start connecting memories to songs and have those memories as they continue to mature.

Heck, I cannot even finish Trent Willmon's song, "Daddy's and Daughters". So I turn on songs that help remember all the fun I had with my dad riding backroads in the cold winter nights with the windows down, heater on high and ice cold Dr. Peppers.
